Meet Dean Champion - Firearms Safety Instructor
Dean Champion is an experienced Trainer & Assessor with 12+ years experience delivering structured, competency-based training in high-risk environments. With a strong background in safety, compliance, and practical instruction, Dean brings a professional and approachable style to firearms training.
Raised on a family farm, Dean developed early experience in pest management and safe firearm use. His passion for shooting grew through his time in Army cadets, where he earned multiple Top Shot awards and developed a strong foundation in discipline and safety.
Today, Dean is an active member of the St George Clay Target Club and St George Pistol Club, regularly competing and supporting shooters of all experience levels. His competition achievements include multiple wins across regional carnivals in Dalby, Cunnamulla, and Surat.
Dean has extensive hands-on experience across a range of firearms, including rifles (.22, .223, .308), shotguns (.410 and 12 gauge), the F88 Austeyr service rifle, and .22 and 9mm handguns.
Through Champion Firearm Safety, Dean is focused on delivering practical, easy-to-understand training that builds confidence, reinforces safe handling practices, and helps people enjoy shooting the right way.
